This true story -- straight from the nightly news -- takes place in the scarcely hidden world of human trafficking and realistically depicts the journey of one of its victims.
Tatiana (Erinn Strain) is thrilled about going to America for employment as an au pair. But upon her Chicago arrival, she is drugged and raped, forced by the brutal trafficker Stash (Andrew Krukowski) to work as a sex slave in his filthy underground club. She is beaten if she refuses to dance, shoot porn videos, and have sex with many men each day -- men who are usually pathetic, often violent, or in one rare case, will risk death to save her.
Meanwhile, actress Diana (Krissy Shields) struggles to fully comprehend the plight of her lead character in a play about trafficking created by Andy (Wesley Walker) until her accidental, fleeting encounter with Tatiana -- which will change both of their lives forever.
Meditations On Trafficking was written, produced and directed by Noel Olken, principal partner of Waitergonebad Productions.
